Storm drops legal action 23 July 2010
Legal action against the NRL by the Melbourne Storm has been dropped by the under-fire rugby league club
The Melbourne Storm has dropped its legal action against the NRL over the club's salary cap penalties.
The club sent out a press release late on Thursday saying they had withdrawn their proceedings against the game's governing body.
Melbourne had been seeking an injunction on the penalties handed down in April which stripped the club of its 2007 and 2009 premierships and all points earned in this season's competition.
The Storm's owners News Limited had last week removed the four independent directors that had started legal action.
