25 July 2018 - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz
Winterstein has announced the end of his 213-game NRL career with 166 of those for the Cowboys after he joined them from Brisbane prior to the 2011 season.
He says he can no longer contribute as he wants to and the last couple of months it's got to the point where it's unbearable to even walk after games.
Winterstein was part of North Queensland's 2015 premiership side and played nine test matches for Samoa, while also making a Kiwis squad in 2010.
